Thank you for showing interest to know about the ways of Islam.
I think the age is not a factor but the main factor is unmarried relationship. It is crucial to know that Islam does not permit any unmarried relationship or any relationship other than marriage between a man and a woman and Islam has its reasons. Surely Allah knows the best in all matters and not us humans know everything.
I have found a very nice article about boy girl relationship in the following link. The article is long but I learnt a lot of things from there and it is also written in the light of modern worlds freedom of love and sex.
      http://www.islamic-world.net/boy_girl.php
If you have got anything else to ask just comment here or email me. I may take some time but I shall answer you if Allah wants.
      And Allah knows the best

    Assalam -o-Alaikum…
Thank you fr the wonderful site..
I have been searching for such kind of site to get my queries solved by Dr. Zakir Naik.
    My main query is..
I recently came to Indya for my further studies and living in a P.G(Paying Guest) where all girls are hindus except me as well as my room partner whom i share my room with. She had been living here since past 1 year and has a temple kept in our room beside my bed, firstly i was very upset and confused as i come from saudiarabian background. So i started offering my salaahs at the other side of the temple.
But i am very concerned whether my salaahs are being accpeted or not?
Is it alright for me to pray in that room? Because there is no room without a temple residing there…
Would really appreciate for your answer.
    JazakAllah Khair.

I think you can, if there is no serious objection from your conscience. Better ask an Alim.

I think you should not, as because sometimes we keep our cell phone in the back pocket, so this may lead to “BEADBI”(disgrace) of Quran. Allah Knows Well!

assalam-o-alaikum.i wanted to knw wheter practice of nilaad(receitation of quran n distribution of sweets)in death annivarsory of a person is correct or not.plz i want full details so that i can explain it 2 othor persons

    • August 20, 2011 at 1:20 am | #15

And to you Peace, Mercy and Blessings of Allah. Well I haven’t heard something about distributing sweets and recitation of Qur’an (called Quran Khuwani in South Asia). I would require you to refer to the authentication of such acts and if you find clear authenticity then you should follow it or else avoid them as they are Biddah (Innovation). So in my knowledge, I haven’t found that people at time of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and The First Generation Muslims used to follow this trend. Therefore, its an act of Biddah (Innovation) which has severe Punishment associated with it rather than bounties.

      Allah Knows the Best. :)

    Assalaam ale kum,

I know the fact that the Islam doesnot have the concept of homosexsuality but if the person have such kind of feeling then what is the saying of Islam in that case. Taking the example of mine I always get attracted to man no matter how hard I try to get rid of it and really I am affraid of Allah in commiting such act but I really feel helpless. I have strong faith and trust in ALLAH. I wanna live simple life with my wife and like to have family like others but I am affraid to get married if the things doesnt workout? Please advice if I can marry will I get rid of this attraction? as Allah has nothing to say on this topic then I can say that I am a normal man who can marry any girl. please advice as I am dying every second it is the only belief in ALLAH is making me alive otherwise I would have commited suicide but I will never do this as I cannot bear the punishment of haraam maut. Please help and suggest any dua to recite and get rid of this.

dogs and cats, both are ALLAH’S creation, both are animals, both have hair on their bodies, both have saliva like any other being and practically dogs are much loyal and faithful as well as understanding than cats; then why are dogs considered to be NAAPAK and cats to be PAAK and why this discrimination among ALLAH’S CREATION?

    Assalam o Alaikum Dr,
I am unmaried, virgin 20 years male, please let me know if ghusl is farz if a drop or two secretes from penis during sleep or some times day time (not semen)or wazoo is ok?

    • August 20, 2011 at 1:26 am | #36

And to Peace, Mercy and Blessings of Allah. I am same as the criteria mentioned by you, and similarly I have been passing with the same issue. But Alhudmulillah I have found out the solution. Ghusl is required upon the Climax i.e. Semen Ejaculation, that can be from Masturbation, Wet Dream or Foreplay during sex. Apart from this there is a liquid which some men excrete so that is not semen as you can feel it. (i.e. The semen is white and sticky but the liquid that is excreted by the Penis is not have same characteristics as semen). Therefore, one may loose his Ablution but would not be required to take Ghusl.

      Allah Knows the Best :)

I am 46 years old married 18 years back, have three kids, presently living with my parents and because my wife is suffering with cancer, i am a religious person and a practicing muslim, my parents are known for being strong headed,arrogant,non-religious,miser and un-polite.I have been very obedient towards them, giving them respect, never been harsh/disrespectful and have even suppressed my personality due to harsh and tough attitude of my father personality in childhood. They have been unjust, unkind at times with my wife (specially) and children, my father is known for his harsh temperament and many a times deals harshly with my wife and even don’t show love towards his grandchildren as well,he is non-religious and don’t even offer jumma prayers, even my mother has been biased towards my wife since our marriage, but contrary to this they are nice with my younger brother’s family and are unjust in distributing things among us.They are now nice with me, but has never given due respect to my wife, where as my younger brother who doesn’t care much of parents occasionally visits them, we both are of equal in status, but I don’t know why they have tilt towards my brother’s family, his wife has been many a times insulting towards my parents, because of which they are now afraid of her attitude, whereas we being respectful are taken for granted and given less respect .In light of Islamic teachings I am unable to say anything to my parents, however my parents are taking undue advantage of this and are usually disrespectful towards my family. Please advise me the course of action , what should I do whereby I be able to change there attitude, whenever I talk to them on these issues they say you are biased towards your family and take my sayings negatively, how can I solve these issues by remaining disrespectful towards parents and provide justice to my family.

    Assalamualikum,
I have been reading the on line english translation of holy quran on the following website http://www.dar-us-salam.com/TheNobleQuran/index.html.

Here verse nuber 5 of Surah-Al Maidah says “Made lawful to you this day are At-Tayyibat [all kinds of Halal (lawful) foods, which Allah has made lawful (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, etc., milk products, fats, vegetables and fruits, etc.). The food (slaughtered cattle, eatable animals, etc.) of the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) is lawful to you and yours is lawful to them. (Lawful to you in marriage) are chaste women from the believers and chaste women from those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) before your time, when you have given their due Mahr (bridal money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage), desiring chastity (i.e. taking them in legal wedlock) not committing illegal sexual intercourse, nor taking them as girl-friends. And whosoever disbelieves in the Oneness of Allah and in all the other Articles of Faith [i.e. His (Allah's), Angels, His Holy Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)], then fruitless is his work, and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.”

does this mean we as muslims can eat kosher meat which jews think is legal? also does it mean muslims can marry christians and jews? because other verses in quran prohibit it.I am confused.
